Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy applies to all guided snorkel/freediving tours booked with Cork Freediving & Snorkelling ("we," "us," "our"), whether booked via social media, direct message, email, or our website. By booking a tour, you agree to the terms below.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of Ireland and the European Union, which cannot be excluded or limited by this policy.

1. Booking Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received. Until payment is made, your spot is not guaranteed and may be offered to another guest.

2. Cancellations by Us

Weather and safety cancellations: If we cancel a tour due to unsafe weather, sea, or other safety conditions, you will be offered a full refund or the option to move your booking to another suitable date, whichever you prefer. This decision is made at the guide's (Cornelia) discretion, with guest safety as the priority.

3. Cancellations by You / No-Shows

No-shows: If you do not arrive for your booked tour, no refund will be issued.

Late cancellations where your spot cannot be filled: If you cancel and we are unable to fill your spot from a waitlist or new booking before the tour departs, no refund will be issued. This is because the cost of running the tour (guide time, equipment logistics, group capacity) is committed once your spot is reserved, regardless of whether you attend.

Cancellations where your spot can be filled: If you cancel with enough notice for us to resell your spot to another guest, we will refund your payment (minus any payment processing fees, where applicable).

We recommend giving as much notice as possible if you need to cancel, as this improves the chance we can fill your spot.

4. Unsatisfactory Experience

If you're unhappy with your tour experience, please contact us directly and as soon as possible so we can discuss it with you. We take feedback seriously and want to resolve concerns fairly.

That said, refunds after a completed tour are generally not available, because:

  • Equipment and guide time for your session have already been used and cannot be recovered or resold,

  • The tour was delivered as booked, and

  • As a small operator, refunding completed services is not commercially sustainable.

This does not affect your right to raise a complaint, and does not limit any statutory remedy available to you if a tour was not delivered as described or was affected by our negligence.

5. How to Request a Refund or Reschedule

Contact us at HERE with your booking details (name, date, and tour). We aim to respond within 2 business days.

6. About Advance Booking and the Right of Withdrawal

Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(l)), the standard 14-day "cooling-off" withdrawal right for online/distance purchases does not apply to leisure activity bookings tied to a specific date, such as our guided tours. This means cancellation terms for our tours are governed by the policy above rather than a general cooling-off period.
