Packing list: What to bring for your guided snorkel/freediving tour
Hello everyone,
To help you prepare for your (upcoming) snorkel/freediving guided tour, please have a look below at what to bring for the day.😊
Mandatory-ish and helpful to bring😅 - summer edition☀️:
Your wetsuit (unless you rent one). Min. 5mm- no shorties
Any gloves, hood or socks you might have (don’t worry, we’ve got you covered if you don’t have them)
Swimming gear/swimsuit/bikini
Towel/Changing towel/dry robe
Reef/Ocean-safe sunscreen (mineral, zinc oxide or titanium dioxide based), no regular sunscreen due to chemicals that can be damaging to the marine system
Change of dry clothes for after
Reusable water bottle and snacks (for after)
Optional:Waterproof phone case or your underwater camera- however, we will take some snaps for you if you don’t bring one
Contact lenses (if needed)
Tea flask
Good mood & a open mind 😁
Feel free to copy and paste the above list!
Other helpful things to know:
When applying sunscreen, please apply it at least an hour before entering the water. Sometimes it can interfere with the mask and create leaks or, worse, wash off.
Feel free to have a light meal or snack beforehand to fuel up, but avoid a heavy meal if possible.
Top tip: want to stay hydrated? Put some electrolytes in your water bottle!
If possible, use the bathroom before we enter the water. People often feel the urge to pee when in the water or when getting cold, which can make snorkelling less comfortable.
Mindset:
People often ask what they can expect to see. We can never guarantee with 100% certainty which marine life will show up. But what I can guarantee you from experience is this:
Expect nothing and trust the process; the most magical moments appear when least expected😊
Stay curious and take it slow when snorkelling. Mindfully observing the seabed, kelp, or seaweed will help your eyes and brain adjust, making it easier to see marine life.
If you have a tendency to get nervous or anxious, don’t feel ashamed and let me (Cornelia) know beforehand. I am a certified Mindset coach (International Coaching Federation) and trained and certified Breathwork facilitator and know how to help you ease your anxiety or panic attack (should it happen).
If you feel super nervous but really want to come join and build your confidence, I recommend a 1:1 snorkel session.
If you think something might be missing from this list, let me know below!
Sea you in the water,
Cornelia 🌊
